We are actively searching for a creative and collaborative Music Director to lead and grow our music ministry in a progressive Christian context. This role works closely with the pastor and worship team to create meaningful, inclusive worship through a variety of musical styles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead music for weekly worship services and special events
• Collaborate with pastor and worship team on service design
• Select music reflecting progressive theology and diverse traditions
• Lead congregational singing and serve as pianist/accompanist
• Recruit, support, and coach volunteer musicians and singers
• Develop and direct a member choir or vocal ensemble (as interest allows)
• Coordinate rehearsals and manage music resources

Qualifications

• Experience in church music leadership or similar role preferred
• Proficiency in piano and ability to lead congregational singing
• Familiarity with a range of music styles (traditional hymns, contemporary, and popular music)
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with and encourage musicians of all skill levels
• Alignment with progressive/inclusive Christian values

• Part-time: ~20 hours/week (includes Sundays and rehearsals)
• Compensation: Commensurate with experience
