On this Pentecost Sunday, we speak to the need for all of God’s people to be prophets. One person can not fix the world’s problems. It takes everyone doing their part. Our doctrine teaches us that each of us has direct access to the Holy. God has called prophets from the wide variety of life. Prophets speak the truth to power. They risk their lives to deliver God’s message. Just as in ancient times, God need prophets today. While technology has changed, human nature has not. There can be no praise by the faithful without justice. We need prophets to remind us what God expects of us. As Christians, we have been anointed/christened by the Holy Spirit to deliver the Good News. Who will go? Our answer should be “Here am I; send me!”
