Given By Madison Shockley on Feb 14, 2016: From the Gospel of John, the first temptation of Christ talks of the Samarian Woman at the well. John uses this literary device to have us become better prepared to answer the call of God. It prompts us during Lent to do a self examination. Using the spiritual disciplines of reading the bible, prayer, doing service to others, giving, and even fasting, we can determine for ourselves the path we are on and how we can continue on our journey of faith.
