The sermon was inspired by the story from the Gospel of John about a woman caught committing adultery who is brought before Jesus. The elders want to stone her. Jesus turns the tables on them. In the recent past, women were referred to as having a reputation or being easy. The new term is now called Slut-Shaming. It is the experience of being labeled a sexually out of control woman or girl and being punished socially for this label whether it is real or not. Men and boys are not but are congratulated. This is a form of bullying. This also has lead to a culture of rape and violence. Just as slut-shaming and honor killing was practiced in ancient times, forms of it are still around today. Men are trying to gain and keep power over all women.
