As guest preacher, Neal Washburn, asks the question, “What did Jesus mean when he asks the disciples to feed and tend my sheep?” According to the reading, John 21: 1-19, the disciples have gone back to fishing in the weeks after Jesus’ death. Jesus appears to them and tells them to throw their nets on the other side of the boat. When they do, they catch 153 fish, almost straining their nets. It means more than just calling a group of individuals to carry on Jesus’ work or start a religious movement. It is a call to ministry for them and to us today. How do we do that?
