On this Safe Sunday, Jaime Romo talks about what it mean to have a relationship with God. We realize that today’s reading from Luke did not actually take place, it is used to serve a purpose for that community. This story of Jesus is replicated in the other gospels. It ties together other stories of amazement to show that God is always with us. Who or what is God is a personal question. Our church congregation has many views on this. This passage helps us understand that God is still speaking to us, with us, and through us. We are called to be present and listen without judgement. When we are at peace within ourselves, we can be a place of support, a safe place, for others. God works through us to heal the troubles of the world.
