On this Labor Sunday, the reading offers us inspiration concerning workers.  God has seen the misery of the people. The Lord delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians.  Today, the state of the worker is troublesome. We have full employment but stagnant wages. In this time of a wonderful economy, why are workers still in trouble? Workers have lost their power to meet their basic needs. Some feel that immigrant workers do not deserve the same rights as those who are white. Many companies treat their workers as a cost. Profits matter more than people. Income inequality is becoming worse. There are many reasons for this. God is watching and listening. What would God think about Pilgrim’s efforts? Let us be on the right side of the burning bush and stand with the workers.
