During troubling times, we have all asked this question. Our reading speaks to the issue of leadership. Moses was charged with leading the people during a period of deprivation before they could reach the promised land. This task was difficult but doable. They needed a leader with a vision for the future. Moses was frustrated with the people. They did not always follow directions. We are like the Hebrew people. We feel hopeless, helpless, and hungry for change. We are looking for a way forward. God is with us. The real question is are we with God? We have wandered off the path and are going in circles. Going back is not an option, only forward. March on in faith, hope, love, and determination.
