In these troubling times, we must remember that we are Christians. If we find ourselves on the losing side, we must remember how to live as Christians. It is easy to find faith when we are on the winning side. It is harder to find faith when we lose. Today, many of us are on the losing side of COVID. We have lost loved ones, jobs, and wages. Some have been on the losing side all their lives. Blacks, the poor, women, LGBTQ+, and immigrants have and continue to suffer. Our reading tells us what we need to do if we are on the losing side. We are holy because God is holy. Render judgement with justice. Do not slander your opposition. Violence is not the answer. Do not have hate in your heart. Do not bear a grudge or take revenge. You should love your neighbor as yourself. That is what it means to be a Christian.
