This time last year, we had no idea of the coming pandemic and what we would need to endure as a result. We have missed family gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, funerals, and religious celebrations. Our social connections have been limited. Too many have been robbed of their jobs, homes, and future opportunities. Too many have lost their lives. The religious right has been silent on the pandemic. They are in denial. The words of Isaiah come echoing across the centuries. Turn to a new way of life. Embrace the truth. Avoid greed and corruption. Love your neighbor. Show compassion to all. Our suffering is almost over. Take comfort in God. We have hope that things will get better soon. God will give us the strength to be better.
